StockPing — Privacy Policy

StockPing is a Shopify app that provides low-stock alerts and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting for merchants. This policy explains what data the app touches and what happens to it.

What we store

• Store settings: your alert threshold(s) and the email address you choose for notifications.
• Stock alerts: which product variants crossed their threshold, when, and at what quantity.
• Authentication sessions: the credentials Shopify issues so the app can operate on your store.

What we read but do not store

• Products and inventory: titles, SKUs, prices, stock quantities, and cost per item — read live from Shopify to display pages and evaluate alerts.
• Order line items: product and quantity per order, read only to compute your COGS report for the month you request.

What we never access

No customer personal information: no names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, or payment details. Our COGS reports use product quantities only.

Third parties

• Railway hosts the app and its database.
• Resend delivers alert emails to the notification address you configure (they process that email address and the product names in the alert).

We do not sell or share data with anyone else.

Data deletion

Uninstalling StockPing deletes your store’s settings, alerts, and sessions from our database. We also honor Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks, including the post-uninstall purge Shopify triggers on our systems.

Data protection commitments

For every store that installs StockPing, we commit to: processing only the minimum data needed to provide the features described above; using that data solely for those features; never selling personal data; protecting data in transit (TLS) and at rest with our hosting provider; deleting a store’s data on uninstall and honoring Shopify’s privacy webhooks; and notifying affected merchants without undue delay in the event of a data breach. Installing the app constitutes agreement to these terms; they form our data protection agreement with you as the merchant.
